Rally Indonesia 2008

Photo courtesy of www.linear-photographs.com Rally Indonesia has always had a reputation as being a bit of car-breaker, and this year was no exception.

The roads were dry and dusty on top, rocky underneath, and heat unrelenting. All the crews ran into problems of one form or another, but it was Indian driver Gaurav Gill who came out on top. After taking the lead on the second stage of the event, he held off a prolonged challenge from MotorImage driver Cody Crocker to score his maiden APRC victory.

Like last year, Crocker struck problems just at the wrong time. Engine problems early on day 1 put him on the back foot, while a puncture late on day 2 not only took the pressure off Gill, it also allowed his main championship rival, Katsu Taguchi, to sneak past and score more series points.

And make sure you listen to the end of the podcast for details of our giveaway competition, where you can win yourself a MotorImage team shirt.
