Arai and Kamada Ready for APRC

By • Mar 27th, 2008 • Category: Season 2008

Kamada and AraiArai Motorsport and Japanese driver Takuma Kamada are set to launch a full-scale attack on the 2008 APRC championship in a brand new Subaru WRX STI 08.

Kamada, who first contested the APRC in 1998 and has plenty of PWRC experience, was excited at the challange he faces this year. “(Cody Crocker) has been champion for the past two years and he’ll be hard to defeat, but our aim is to win the championship. The car is the new model, so there’s a lot to learn.”

Having built a new WRX for Toshi Arai’s defence of his PWRC title, Arai Motorsport completed the preparation of two more cars this week, which are being shipped to Australia for Rally Canberra, the second round of the series.

Kamada WRXAlthough not yet officially announced, it’s expected Kamada will be joined by Russian Alex Gamayunov in a second Arai Motorsport WRX. Unlike 2007, when Toshi Arai drove in the Japanese and Malaysian rounds for MotorImage, the PWRC champion is not expected to make an appearance in the APRC this year.
